Why the motor bike?

Hello Anyone

OK, so far we have established that the Love Cub & The Silver surfer are Mine; & the Lifan & the Lamb are, actually the Child Brides. If the intent was to scooter together, why did we buy a Motorbike?

Legs - A simple one word answer!

Well, the Child Brides legs to be precise. Due to The Child Bride not being my height, she does find the Lambretta a tad unwieldy to ride & more importantly to start. This awkwardness is exacerbated by the Lambs lack of dampers on the front suspension (meaning that the Lamb will tend to “wallow” if you hit a bump too fast & bounce around on rough terrain).

In short, although it looks great, the Lamb can be an acquired taste at times (especially if you are not the most experienced rider out there).

Thus we were faced with a quandary, do I relinquish the Silver Surfer (as a true gentleman would) or, should we just find a bike that suited the Child Bride better?

Yep, I liked the Silver Surfer too much! So off to Sydney on a weekend getaway we went! After having a look around town, the Torino Veloce was the most comfortable for her, so we got it. It was delivered to OJ a couple of days later. She was riding to work for the next few weeks (enjoying the OJ summer & autumn)

The best off all, we could ride together, even tho most observers think the “tuff” bike is mine & the cute little scooter is the Child Brides!

Anyway, now, when we both are home & the kids are at school, we can go for a ride - not too far, mind you, but just enough to enjoy the weather & the beauties of motorcycling in the country. In order to keep it beautiful, we don’t do rain either! Typically, we do a one hour ride to lunch at one of the many local cafes around OJ & then return home so that one of us can pick up the kids from school. You can’t imagine how much we look forward to these spins!

I definitely recommend motorcycling/scootering as “marriage therapy”!

Give it a try

A quick visit to the Child Brides Mum & Dads place. The Vespa was the faster of the two to the house, the I50 cc of devastating Italian 2 stroke power proved to be too much for the Veloce’s 250cc v-twin! Granted the Torino is a tad more reliable tho!
